Google Maps Alone Isn't Enough
Roughly half of smartphone users in Australia are on an iPhone. When these customers look for directions or a nearby feed, the app they open isn't Google Maps — it's Apple Maps. It's the default map app on every iPhone, and both Siri and Spotlight search pull business info from it.
Many Korean-run businesses work hard on their Google Business Profile but leave Apple Maps completely empty. If an iPhone customer searches and your shop doesn't appear — or shows an old address or phone number — you're losing customers you never even knew about.
Getting Listed with Apple Business Connect
Apple offers a free tool called Apple Business Connect. Head to businessconnect.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account to get started.
- Find & claim your business: If it's already on the map, claim ownership; if not, add it as a new listing.
- Verify ownership: You'll go through a check (by phone or documents) confirming the business is yours.
- Enter key details: Match your name, address, phone, hours and website exactly to your Google Profile. Consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) boosts your search trust.
Worth Setting Up After You're Listed
- Showcases: Display photos, promos or new menu items as cards at the top of your profile.
- Logo & cover photo: Show your brand on the map pin and detail screen to build trust.
- Public holiday hours: With so many holidays in Australia, adding special hours in advance saves confusion.
The whole setup takes about 15–20 minutes, and it's a reliable, free way to get discovered by a whole new group of iPhone customers.
If you'd like your Apple Maps listing, Google Profile and website info all kept consistent, PICKTECH can help you get the initial setup right.
